HD TV and Audio conversions

Postby Team Cocoon » 19 Feb 2009, 15:45

Hello to all ,

Many of you ask the same question over and over again without previousely reading our forum,

Once and for all : FFmpeg does not support conversion from and to HD dvd so Quick Media Converter does not support it either since it is a front end to ffmpeg.

If you have :
Advance video codec in your file technical info do not expect it to work .

HD tv and audio is proprietary and therefore you need a license to be able to work on it , this in other words means that you would have to pay . There may be some applications out there that would support it however very likely you would have to pay for them .

Since we want to stay a freeware there is no chance at this stage that we will have this possibility within the next few days. Maybe the people working on the ffmpeg development will find a possibility in the future, then we will include it in our application as well .

At this stage H264 is supported .

Thnak you all for reading this and not ask us again for this .

We are currently testing version QMC 380 HD next generation, It will support AVC 1 2 3 Full HD AKA MPEG2 HD and should be out within a week or so if all tests are satisfying, this version will also include matroska (MKV) encoding.

Check for update on your application , it will let you know when the new version is available.

Have a good day and enjoy QMC ..
