Problems with 4.5 (Win 7, 64bit)

Postby AlterEgo » 27 Dec 2010, 18:02

First of all, happy holidays.

Now to the problem. I switched from the 4.0.0.20 to the 4.5 version, but QMC won't work now. I first uninstalled the old one, the deleted all the files in \Program Files and the old ones in \AppData. I get this window everything I start the program:

I also noticed this Error.log sitting on the root of my C:\ drive, which updates itself everytime I start QMC with the error above:

If I try to use QMC to encode anything, regardless of that initial error that it tells me, this is what I get:

I also know that in another thread it was recommended to download a bin.zip file and place its content under "C:\Users\@usermame@\AppData\Roaming\Cocoon Software\QuickMediaConverter" but that didn't work either.

I am using Windows 7 64bit, with everything updated (all drivers, all updates from Microsoft, bios, etc)

Hello,
thank you for all informations and support.

The message displayed explain that QMC cannot find the FFmpeg files in the good directory.

Make the following tests:
- Copy the directory bin in the following directories : "C:\Users\@usermame@\AppData\Local\Cocoon Software\QuickMediaConverter\" or in the directory of QuickMediaConverter installation.
- Send me your log file after you have tried to convert a video.

Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day.

check out your e-mail. I couldn't just attach the .zip file here because I got a "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 1 MiB." when I try to use the "Upload attachment" option here.

Thanks for the new version, it's working now. :)
But that Error.log in the root of my C:\ is still being made everytime. Since I downloaded the new version, I started QMC twice, and twice it updated the Error.log in my C:\ as shown bellow:
29/12/2010 16:28:42:34 File converter.kpd not found !!!!
29/12/2010 16:35:10:31 File converter.kpd not found !!!!

It doesn't affect QMC in any way, but I thought I report the new version still has that little bug. Plus, after several months and if someone uses QMC a lot, that file can grow to be a few MBs.

Hello,

in the log file, we can view the following abnormal sequence :
17/03/2011 20:26:25:50 Verify your internet connection or your security programs : gbDownloadOkStd = False

The software has needed to connect on the net to check your software version and in your case the net connection is not open or blocked.

If the software can not verify the signature of your software then it generate a fault.
We haven't spyware or malware or virus in this software, checked by more than 30 anti-virus software over more than 300 websites!!!!

Until you haven't accepted the conditions and open your internet connection ,you cannot convert because you refuse to download the FFmpeg executable.

Have a nice day.

What does that mean? How can that message be stopped?

Window 7 and version 4.5 install issue.

1 - Program is installed to 64bit Program Files directory instead of Program Files (x32) directory. :?

2 - FFmpeg is installed in wrong location and evertime program is started the program ask for FFmpeg. Moving bin Folder did not appear to help. When started you get two request for FFmpeg on for std and one for hd. After this you are asked to install from web. :?

I am going retro, and installing my old version untill you correct... someone please inform me at morganfj at gmail..

thanks to all.
