QMC flakey under Windows 7

Postby reng2009 » 19 Nov 2009, 21:20

I just downloaded and installed QMC 4.0.0.0. Immediately, I encountered two problems:

First, *every* time I start up QMC, I get the UAC dialogue asking whether to allow this program to have access to the machine. Damn annoying.

Second, I tried to perform a conversion test -- wmv to flv. Upon completing the conversion, QMC hangs ("Not responding"). I have to use Task Manager to kill the application.

Then I tried the conversion test again. And again, upon completing the conversion, QMC hangs. I became so frustrated, I immediately uninstalled QMC.

I installed and used QMC under Windows 7 for all of one hour. I can't say I'm impressed.

Regards,
Richard

Hello and welcome,

Thank you for your comments ,

Perhaps we should specify that we have not tried it for windows 7 and much less claim it works in it...

It is designed to work in all previous windows versions however maybe you should try QMC with some other windows and then judge if it is good or not ...

Thank you for your comments ,

We appreciate them for what they are worth ....

Have a nice day

I anxiously await the Windows 7 version. Your previous version (3.6.5) ran well on my Vista machine and I really liked the program. However, I am migrating over to Windows 7, as are many people I know.

I'm actually surprised you haven't tested for Windows 7, as the RC (Release Candidate) and RTM (Release To Manufacture) versions have been available for many months. You couldn't ask for more lead time...

(Speaking as a retired 20-year-veteran software engineer.)

Respectfully,
Richard

Hello,
you can download this release for test purpose only.
In first :
Don't distribute this version. Thank you.
It's only for a limited numbers of users.
This version is a beta test version and is disabled after 30 days.

This version must resolve the bugs when you start QMC.
1. Permissions on Xp and Vista improved. Now the datas files are installed in the user folder for security compatibility or 7.
2. Setup install is without admin restriction under vista and don't ask each time to confirm the action.
3. Communication Improving for update and patch release.
4. On this version , regression with a error on the log file when you start the appllication as an standard user on xp and Vista or 7.

Download on the following link the test version 4.0.0.2 : http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/download/install-hd-4-0-0-2.zip

Thank you for supporting QMC.
Please Send me a feedback

If the feedback is ok we launch in stable version this release in 10 days.

Enjoy with this version.
