AVI to DVD Probs

Hi All

New to this DVD burning thing and am having problems with myQMC. I think the layout is great and really easy to use which is why I think I must be very thick. To burn the end result I am using Ashampoo which is good. but each time I try and convert an AVI to VOB it wont work. My method is select DVD as Conversion format. Select AVI file. step 6 the output format wont highlight so select output file and convert which ends up with an Xvid file. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong ?
