TS file to ??? no sound

I am trying to convert a .TS file (16:9) to a common format like MP4 or AVI, but when I do so Windows Media Player can play the file but there is no sound.
What would be the recommended PC / compatible file format at 16:9 so I will have sound, using e.g. Windows Media Player or Classic Media Player. Any http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/paypaldonate-us.htm welcome, Thanks, Gerard

What audio codec did you choose ?
You can get inspired by the default profiles in expert mode if you are unsure . Check the forum and our website for more information on them. or thisvideo demo

Also make sure you have a codec pack installed if you wish to use Windows Media Player to preview the files . K Lite could be a good choice.
Media Player classic is also ok .

Quick Media Converter contains its own video player.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Still it does not work. I am using K-lite and Media Player Classic plays the .ts file ok, with sound.
When I run QMC, the latest release, after a fresh install of K-lite and QMC and a restart of my computer, QMC does not produce a sound.
I tried converting in easy mode to MS compatible Dvix (AVI), I tried with loaded profile Dvix 16:9, where the sound was on (in expert mode), still no sound.
I verified other existing AVI files comparing with the converted AVI files, these did have sound using Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic.
Just the converted files all seem to have no sound. Any http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/paypaldonate-us.htm please, as I could not find a solution in the forum. Thanks, Gerard

Please read the posting rules to see how you can send us information about your input file and we will see if the audio codec is supported .
Note that TS HD is not supported by ffmpeg
