adding 5.1ch to video file

I am having .avi file(xvid) with mpeg4 video and mpeg audio and now i wanted to add 5.1 channel with dolby. how to make it?

i tried by loading profile xvid with ac3 and selected 6 channels but the result, video is very poor

Hello,

two problems detected in your file description:
- The video is already converted with Lavf52.39.2.
- The native sound is only a 2 channels.

If you try to convert to 5.1 channels in this case, it is possible but the result is a copy of the two channels and in some case your video is accelerated.
For the poor quality, you can increase the Bit Rate.
