I own a Panasonic DMC-FX35 digital compact camera which can record 16:9 HD movies with a resolution of 1280x720. The output format is .MOV
If I try to convert these files to .FLV for uploading to Youtube, QMC reduces the resolution to 320x180. If I try to use the custom web format and force 1280x720, the resulting conversion is heavily pixelated and virtually unplayable.
Is there a way to convert from MOV to FLV without loss of quality whilst still retaining the original format?
Can original resolution be retained?

Hello,
you can go in expert mode and try with the flv profile.
There, you can increase the bite rate to upside the quality.
Have a nice day.

Thanks for that.
In the meantime though, I've discovered that video files in .MOV format can be uploaded to Youtube without the need to convert them to .FLV
See http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en-uk&answer=57410
(sorry, I should have checked that first).
