Postby cootmaster » 07 Jun 2009, 17:07

hello GREAT PROG i switched to this mainly because of quicktime
im bit confused about something
in easy mode the button says DVD VCD/SVCD but looks like this is to MPG
PAL and NTSC
does this meen its convert TO MPG1 standard windows and NOT VOB

my dvd player only reconises AVI XVID and store bought DVDs ONLY
i read to make a vob you have go thru steps in expert mode or use a different program
correct

is the DVD VCD button to convert to standard MPG1

if not how do create MPG1

Hello and welcome,

If your DVD reads avi and divx there is a great chance that it will also read mpeg which is in fact what a DVD is initially made off
Your DVD player should detect an dvd mpeg , vob are used to through in languages subtiltels chapters and so on.

If you are in the US you should use DVD NTSC if in Europe use PAL

Also make sure you buy correct DVD disks Ie +R or -R make sure you read the DVD notice to find out.
and finally we strongly http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/paypaldonate-us.htm to make tests with a DVD rewritable which should avoid you the loss of a DVD in the event it does not work.

QMC can also convert to Xvid or DIVX so if mpeg is not recognized you may use this option as well .

Hope this helped.

Hello again,

Could would be more specific about exactly what conversion you would like to do ?

It is all very confusing so far , also we need to have information about your input file to see if the problem may come from it .

Converting with DVD mpeg with our application does not include any menus ..

Try to use profiles in Expert mode , and you may want to give Version QMC 3.8.0 a try..

Looking forward to your news.

i use nero
if i try to add a ripped VOB i get that weird message i attached about a codec upgrade message i attached and there no sound i guess nero wants you to buy a upgrade
BUT computer will read it
so thats good

if i add the MPEG which you http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/paypaldonate-us.htm with VCD button it works FINE :D
BUT my player wont read MPEG
my nero WILL encode ALL files to SVCD with its menu maker which takes boout 45 minutes for big files which is pain
my player reads the menu but you can select tracks
actually i tried it on players at stores they read but u cant select
ONLY computer can select in menu

so i have turn menu OFF in player

or create everything in XVID AVI w no menu just track list

i think the vob i want would be used for ppl w a computer and dont own a dvd player
and xvid avi for home players

before i bout a home player i made evrything in vob and computer played it
now home player only reads avi xvid

ty

btw is MPEG same as mpg1 files for media player

Hello again,

I think in your case all you really need to solve your player problem is a set of codecs , I http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/paypaldonate-us.htm you to download Klite codec pack and install it on your pc (it is free) . Then your problem should be solved. Usually the basic version of players such as Windows media will not read mpeg files and once the codecs installed they should read it .

Here is a possible link to get the codec pack :http://k-lite-codec-pack.en.softonic.com/

Hope this helped

Hello again I just was not getting your question right :=)

In easy mode then just click on DVD and select output according to your country and then PAL or NTSC (USA) output file will be in mpeg2

EAsy mode Mpeg1 is VCD button Europe PAL and Ntsc for the US

Third solution to reduce size of Xvid avi
Go to expert mode load xvid profile and reduce the bitrate and/or video size (W H) in video options . You would probably loose some quality but nothing to bother for playing on a pc ...

Hope this one answers your question adequately
