Converts to the wrong aspect ratio

Postby dmatting » 30 Mar 2010, 01:22

I am completely new to your program and am a novice in video editing and conversion. I only just downloaded it to try it out. I thought at first glance it would be perfect for my needs. But my first attempt resulted in an incorrect conversion. I found several topics that address the issue of aspect ratios, but none with the specifics shown below.

When converting AVI file with a 4:3 aspect ratio to MPEG 2 using Quick Media Converter version 4.0.0.20 I found the following problem. The conversion did complete without displaying any errors.

Description of problem:

Selecting the quality modes "NTSC DVD Format HQ (.mpeg) (4:3) Usa" or "NTSC DVD Format Good Quality (.mpeg) (4:3) Usa" does not convert to 4:3 aspect ratio. Both conversions instead were converted to a 16:9 aspect ratio.

However, the quality mode "NTSC DVD Format LQ (.mpeg) (4:3) Usa" does convert to the correct aspect ratio of 4:3

Thank you for your support in clearing this up for me.

The following is my system info and a copy of the info for the file converted when using the mode "NTSC DVD Format Good Quality (.mpeg) (4:3) Usa".
