Audio/video sync issues

Postby jamie Nunan » 11 Feb 2008, 00:53

When I convert from Avi to MPEG the audio and video are out of sync by a few seconds. Is there an easy way of fixing this?

Is the original piece of video already out of sync ? or is it after conversion ?

If the original is out of sync here is a simple way to do it :

1)extract the audio using the do not encode video combo button in expert mode
2)Extract video avi without audio using the do not encode audio in expert mode

You should get 2 seperate files , you cand resync them using windows movie maker for instance by replacing the video & audio files at their proper place in the time line .

Then use QMC to to reencode to the format you want

In the avi selected is fine and the output converted is out of sync it would be nice to have some extra information :

1)Type of avi ( use file information on the active worksheet in qmc)
2) Type of Mode used Expert or standard
3) output selected dvd hiq lo q plus all extra info you might have ..

Does that help ?

Let us know thanks ...

Thank you for these details , also we need to know if you are using our latest version 3.4 ? If you are not please install the latest it has a newer version of ffmpeg and it is strongly recommended to install it .

There must be some compatibility issue Virtual Dub output file and ffmpeg ... We will check it out and hope to get back to you with an answer sometime tomorrow .

In the mean time may I sugest to try as follows :

Go to expert mode :
place the file to convert on the active worksheet ...
Select the output format container Ie : Mpeg
do not touch anything else (buttons on red ) and start converting and see what happens... ( it should reproduce original settings for audio and video sizes etc...)

If it doesn't work thank you for letting us know ...
Have a good evening

Hello and thank you for your interest .

This is Beta testing version ,

We never got a reply from this user .. so probably the problem is solved or maybe not we have only one such matter so far with more than 100000 units installed around the world so the problem could have come from the source file as we suspected..

As of today what we are sure about is that when the proper and most common codecs are used for the original file our application behaves totally adequately , it becomes more difficult when files are coded with uncommon codecs or have been converted many times before they got to you.

Just give it a try please and let us know It is also a good way to make this free application improve and serve you better.
Video and Audio is very tricky and also ffmpeg may not support some codecs , in case of doubt you can check in the fack there is a subject where you can find the list of formats and codecs supported by our application : Lists :

Have a nice evening ,
We are looking forward to your comments ...

Hey, dont get rude with me, ever since post 2 ive been getting rude replies this not how to help out people in need!

What i meant by the post to:

is it seems like they posted in the wrong thread, because i dont know how it has anything to do to the subject, so i dont know what your talking about.

Hello again ,

Not being rude to you by any means nor willing to be,

We are only two to at the same time develop , test and answer the forum among other things and all this for free .

We sacrifice our time letting our families on the side to try to give you a free software with lots of features in it and also help in this forum to support our users .

Excuse us but the fact you havn't even installed our application, does not really encourage us to reply on something you ask about something you havn't even tried.

It is by the way also clearly stated everywhere that this application is in Beta testing, so we expect a minimum of collaboration from our users which most do and we thank them for that. It will be for the benefit of all of us.

At this stage , if you do not test our software there is no reason for us to start a call center, we do not have time for that...

The subject of this thread is " out of sync flv file when converting to mpeg... "
Nothing about divx xvid and even much less about what software to use to place it on a dvd .

We hope you understand our point of view.

Looking forward to your comments on our software.
Have a nice evening

Believe us we do not have time to be rude, we are busy the whole time trying make this a better free conversion tool for all and that includes you, You should try it some day maybe you will like it .

You have you asked for a program that would engrave videos on dvds ?
I told you nero but It is off subject I said . If that is rude let me rephrase it .

"We are sorry to inform the gentlemen that the subject treated is not in relation with the question asked in this thread... "

This software is in beta testing . Therefore this is not the usual help forum .
This place is dedicated to those who have installed the software and are running it and giving some time to help us, find bugs in order to eventually fix them, give us some feedback..In return we all get a better imporved product .

If you want to participate here is the way .

1) Download the product and install it
2) Test it
3) Come here and ask about the problems you encounter, you can also discuss with or even help others why not ...

We hope you will understand .

Sorry we hurt your feelings ...

Thank you

That is what I read, unfortunately the writing may contain mistakes coming back to it you may have wanted to say :

"He is converting to mpeg, that is the best way to convert into a dvd . "

We read : what is the way to get it on a dvd....
our reply was nero

And we thought it was a question which now obviousely seems not to be .

Please before you post try to make it clear so we do not misunderstand ..

Who would blame us :)
Big misunderstanding
Sorry

Hello, I am having an audio sync problem as well. I read through your advice for the first guy and saw he didn't respond to you. I tried doing what you told him by putting the expert mode setting to mpeg. It didn't change anything. My original video is from a camcorder and I've copied it though CLONE DVD2 by Elaborate Bytes. It as .TS file. My original video file syncs up just fine and works all the way through on all my players as well as through a typical dvd player for your tv. I've tried to convert to several different types of files with the same "unsynced" effect. I'm running Vista and here's the info list you ask for. Thanks guys.
