Problems trying to convert MP4's to MP3's-solved

Postby striker20052005 » 10 Mar 2008, 22:47

Hey team-

I am having problems with QuickMediaConverter for Beta 3.4 when I try to convert MP4 (itune songs) to MP3. Here is whats happening:

The first time I tried to convert an MP4 to MP3, it worked (one song). Then, the next 20 or so times it didnt work.

I would put a song in the file convert list, tell it to convert to Item 27 MP3 (Audio only), then convert. It went thru its normal process, then said file converted. I went to the folder where it saved the file, heres what it listed:

1st song: 3,500 KB MP3 Converted - This song was converted perfectly.
2nd song: 3 KB MP3 Converted - doesnt play anything
3rd song (etc.) 2 KB MP3 Converted - doesnt play anything.

I downloaded Beta 3.4 yesterday. It does transfer MPEG4 movies to WAV movies, that does work. But I cant convert MP4 itune songs to MP3? I have rebooted many times.[/b]

Hello Striker welcome back

Ok we will try to help but we need you to read thisinformation needed In your case after point 4

Please follow this procedure and we will all save a lot of time .... =-)

That way we will see what the technical specs of your input files are :)

Then we will be able to tell if the problem comes from the audio codec used in the input files.

Waiting for your news

1)Give us precise description of the problem
Converting MP4 to MP3 files, only converted 1 song out of 20 (all songs are .m4p files (itune). It worked the first time, then did not convert after that. When the converting is done, I go to my folder where it lists the converted songs, it does list the song, but the file is only 2 to 3 KB in size and doesnt play anything. It does state that the file conversion was sucessful.

2) Input file Technical Information (Itune file posted, called Prologue_Main)

I dragged and dropped some itune songs onto the window, the window had listed

FTP root at ns300586.ovh.net

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

03/11/2008 12:11PM Directory .
03/11/2008 12:11PM Directory ..

When dragging the 3 songs over the window, the Itunes player came on and played the music of each 3 songs. Not sure if you got the files, let me know. Hope you got them.

Hello ,

Unfortunately your attempt did not work ,

Please make sure you use Windows Explorer to place ftp adress link and not Internet Explorer , this could be the cause of your problem...

Have a nice day

Tried everything

Postby striker20052005 » 12 Mar 2008, 22:35

I used windows explorer, It will not let me upload to your server. The .m4p files do not show up in left hand folder column. I tried everything to try to view the songs in left hand folder column, cannot view, only can view folders.

I opened the folder with the .m4p files in it and dragged a song over your FTP page in windows explorer, it just opens the song in itunes. The songs do have the word protected on them (file name MP4 Audio Protected). Again, I am not using internet explorer, I am using windows explorer.

I have 4 itune mp4 songs that are NOT protected (can convert to mp3)

I have approximately 70 itune mp4 songs that ARE protected (cannot convert to mp3)

I cannot post any music file to your FTP.
Is there any other way to send you the file?

Hello again ,

If the files are protected it is precisely probably the reason why they cannot be converted . And also the reason why you cannot send them . It is not a problem with our application but probably they have copywright to avoid piracy..

Do you by any chance have windows photo gallery installed?
If yes it is a source for bugs...

view this if you have it
Let us know ....
Have a good evening
