Version 3.6.5 can't handle 'large fonts'

Postby marsom » 22 Jan 2009, 02:06

I've been using QuickMediaConverter 3.5.4 successfully for some time now, but yesterday it "forced" me to upgrade. There was no option to continue with the older version.

I'm an older man and for visibility I always use a "large" (120 DPI) setting for my display. This was no problem with 3.5.4, but with 3.6.5 the contents of the window no longer fit, so the progress bar is not visible (it's off the bottom of the window). Resizing the window makes no difference. This is a problem for many programs, but XP does have the API's to retrieve the DPI setting so most programs automatically adjust for it.

I've had to resort to a workaround, blocking QMC in my firewall so it can't "see" the new version. This lets me continue to use the older one, but it is far from an ideal solution. I hope this can be addressed in the next release so I can update.

Operating System: Windows XP Professional, SP3

Ah, made a minor error.

My current version of QMC is 3.5.7, not 3.5 4 as shown in my original post.

Hello and welcome ,

We understand your problem very well and will adress it ASAP , you are the first to mention this so there was no way for us to find out as every user has specific needs , we will probably post a patch once this issue will be solved and let you know .

Hoping this is satisfying for you . I the mean time I suppose you should probably be able to convert as before but of course with the progress bar out of sight you would have to wait for the final conversion status message ( Conversion ok or error etc )

Have a nice day and thanks for using QMC

Merci,

I have had the same problem with many programs, but you're the first group to offer to fix it :D

I will look forward to the patch. The program is excellent.

Je m'excuse pour écrire en anglais, mais ma français écrit n'est pas assez bien comme mon anglais.

Please install this patch for test purpose attached wich this post.
Unzip the file on your desktop.
This is a exe file in french, i have not enough time to translate in uk/us, in the field open by the exe file give only the path where you find the directory install of QMC on your computer.
I hope this patch resolve your problem.

Seems to work

The patch seems to work. I've only tried it on one computer so far, but it is the one that had the problem.

Many thanks,
