Quick Media Converter Application Error

Postby scribeman01 » 02 Apr 2010, 00:12

Greetings,

I am a new user (version 4.0.0.20) - - Windows XP
*Media: Soundblaster X-FI Extreme Audio
*BtCap, WDM Video Capture

When trying to convert TS MP2 files to WMV or MOV format, I get the following error:

"The Security Mechanism has detected an error in the Quick Media Converter Application or visit our forum on our website . . . "

There are 10 files with different extensions:

Video_TS.Bup
VTS-01-1 (mpeg)
VTS-01-1 (mpeg)
VTS-02-0 (mpeg)
VTS 01-2 (mpeg)
Video_TS (mpeg)
VTS-01-0 (mpeg)
VTS-02-0.Bup
VTS-02-1
These files originated as video footage. On my computer, I can read the master disk which includes a menu file to select the footage to play (which I also can do). But I need to convert them to a "mov" or "wmv" file which triggers the error above. This error appears to when I have tried different variations using the "custom resize" in both wmv and quicktime with the same error.

What can I do to to resolve the error? Do the files have to be converted separately, or can they be consolidated into one with the menus that was on the original Video TS_MP2 format? Thanks so much!

Hello and welcome ,
You should try to convert only the TS mpeg files and not the ones below as they are not video files and could explain the error.

Video_TS.Bup
VTS-02-0.Bup
VTS-02-1
Lets first try above before trying to resize... :-)
The consolidation could be done using command line in expert mode provided you used similar types of files ie mpeg but not a mixture of different formats let's wait for that too...

Hope this helps thanks for keeping us informed.

Have a nice day

Thanks for the quick reply and guidelines.

I only added only the video files this time and set up to do a WMV convert. I clicked on one of the mpeg files to play and received the same error, which kicked me out of the application.

In another conversion application (AVS6), the conversion of all files went through into a consolidation file although it took over 4 hours (to MOV format)!

Thanks again for your quick reply and your guidance for the next step.

Hello again ,

In order to help you I need the following information from you in order to narrow down on the problem

Which windows system are you running ..
Where did you download our application?
Is it a portable one ?

If it is a portable version you may already uninstall without further questions as these are hacked versions and more they are containing a back orifice or Trojan as you wish . It is explained on the front page of our website.

Make sure you remove this version in that case from your pc and download a new one on our website . Install it and then run it again and lets see if the problem persists. Just convert the smallest file to begin.

Looking forward to your news.

Thank you again for your quick reply and concern. :)

I reinstalled, running spyware checks (Adaware, Spotbot-SD & Advanced System Care)

Unfortunately, the same error code and result (attempted to convert a small MPEG 2 file to WMV.

Spybot killed a serious adware application, but I don't know if related to the first upload with was from your webset.

I have Windows XP (please refer to attachment for system information & hardware)

Please let me know if I can provide additional documentation.

Warm Regards, Bill

Hello again ,

Thanks for the details all seems fine to me

1st Question :
Have you tried other conversions and do they work ?

2nd Question
Did you rip your dvd on your hard drive first or are you trying to convert directly from the dvd ?

We are also going to run some tests on dvd to wmv just in case a bug invited himself and we will let you know here as well the outcome of the test .

Looking forward to your news.
Have a nice day
