FFmpeg won't download

Postby Skrzypiec » 04 Jan 2012, 08:09

Quick Media Converter 4.5.0.0 or 4.5.0.2 - tried both.
The FFmpeg download window appears, and the messages "Downloading FFmpeg in folder Std" and "Downloading FFmpeg in folder Hd" and "Download Complete" appear normally, however the progress bar doesn't show up and the program crashes.

WinXP SP3
Pentium 4 Dual Core
each core 3.06 GHz
1 GB RAM
Integrated graphic card.
No media center.

Sorry, can't give You full technical info, as QMC won't run at all.

How can I download FFmpeg separately and set it up manually? I mean:
- which version of FFmpeg I need?
- where do I have to put it?

Regards,

Program didn't respond for at about 10 minutes, and then some new messages appeared. They say "check Your net connection and antivirus program" - but the connection works fine, and I am still getting the crash, even though I turned Avast completely off.

Exact quote:

Code: Select all

It is not possible to download the executable FFmpeg :   Verify your internet connection or your security programs

Then, the program launches properly, but I get an infamous "This software is not an original" and I can't convert anything.

I've just tried to download FFmpeg on my friend's laptop. Same error.

My working copy of QMC uses version SVN-r22666. How can I get it and configure manually?

Hello ,
thanks for your feedback.
we have more than 3 millions of installations !!!!!
If you use avast, disable the sandbox protection during the installation and your problem is solved. The setup don't support the temporary moving the files in a virtual folder
We have tried this solution on many version of windows with Avast(Xp-Vista-Seven).

Now if you block the installation or the downloading of FFmpeg with your differents software protections ,it's your problem.
Here is the link where to download the version of FFmpeg compatible with the new version:
Version 32 bits
http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/download/4505/x32/Std.rar
Version 64 bits
http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/download/4505/x64/Std.rar

!!! Tenir compte de la version de votre OS !!!

Thank you.

I have uninstalled AV ( AVG ) and disabled all firewall settings, but still get the problem.

I have this same problem on all 3 our office PC's
We have no fancy router and no ACL's or any other blocking of any sort at the office.

I just don't understand how everything works except for the FFMPEG .exe download....

Where can i find the error log and send it to you please.

I have used a much older version of your software about 1 year ago, and there was no problem with FFMPEG installation.

Please advise on how to debug or get a error log to you.

The file are unzipped and copied in your home folder and in the directory of installation..
