H264 conversion

Postby thebaz » 07 Nov 2011, 23:27

hi,
I am trying to convert my H264 video files from my surveillance DVR to a playable format. They will not play in VLC player and when I try and convert them in QMC, the conversion shows as OK but the file is only 2kb and has no content. The original video file can be played on the Quick media player with no problems. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to QMC and I have searched for a solution but can't seem to find one in the forum.
I hope you can help.

Regards

Hi,
I am sorry if I made mistakes when posting, I hope I have done it correctly this time.
I have searched again and cannot find a suitable answer. I can successfully get QMC to convert other files and I have yet to find a file that VLC wouldn't play beside the ones that come from my DVR.
I have included my question again and hope you can help.
Again I apologize if I have posted incorrectly.

Hello,
i think QMC can't convert because the format is an specific AVC format and the version of FFmpeg implemented in QMC isn't recognized.
You can try to convert in mov format perhaps.
The best is to send me your file on mega or rapid so we can make a test in debug mode with the developper.
And in a proche future we can send you a specific profile for your dvr to convert your file.
Send me also the mark and model of your dvr.

Have an great day.
