I need to turn this into a 320x240 mp4 or 3gp video to be played on my phone, and i do need subtitles to be included, so how should i go about doing this?
i tried fumbling around in expert mode after searching the forum, but i get an error message:

Code: Select all

Error[Stream #0.14: Attachment: 0x0000Expected number for ar but found: -ac]

Please try to give simple step-by-step explanations or tell me what to fill into each box since i don't understand the terminology.

Hello,
thanks' to support QMC.

why you don't try to use a profile provided with the software ?

Go to the website and look in video tutorial section How to load a profile.

Thank you, I have not known about profiles before this. However, I am unsure of which profile to use. I just tried the ipod 16:9, but edited the WxH to 320x240, I turned the button green beside "Force subtitle", now if I check the box "Force subtitle" and leave codec blank, I will get an error about unknown codec, If i put in "S_TEXT/ASS", it converts in 2 seconds and says "Conversion OK", but i get a 20kb mp4 file which VLC cannot recognize. If i uncheck "force subtitle", QMC instantly goes into "Not responding"(and never will) mode. What should I do?

Hello Firedrops,

go to in expert mode and then load the Iphone Profile.
Use the profile Iphone without change anything in first .

If the conversion is ok then try to change the size of image to 320x240.

Have a nice day.

Sorry for the double-post, I forgot about the need for approval, I thought I forgot to click "Submit".
I cannot find any Iphone profile, I could only find an iPod one. Without changing anything, i loaded the video and clicked the convert button, QMC instantly goes into "Not responding" mode. The file it produced is a 44.1kb mp4 file which VLC says:

VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'file:///C:/Users/User/Desktop/Episode%2008%20-%20For%20Whose%20Sake%21_converted.mp4' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details.

Now to read your videos converted, the best is to download FFdshow or K-Lite codec pack.
